Actress and singer Zuzana Maurery was born in Bratislava, where she also finished her studies at the University of Musical Arts, specialising on acting in the class of Sona Korenciova and Martin Huba. After receiving a university degree in 1990 she began her career as actress in RND theatre, which was her "mother base" till 2000. In these years she was part of almost all productions of this unique and successfull theatre. After the year 2000, as a freelance artist, Zuzana Maurery started to act as a musical actress not only in Slovakia , but also in the Czech Republic. Her excellent performances range from the role of Sweet Sue in "Some like it hot" (M.Lasica) , "Hair" as Rony where she got a prestigeous price awarded by the Literal fund, to the brilliant Pierrette in Polak´s "8 women" or Vicky in the masterpiece "Full Monty". After the successful role of Rizzo in Grease she got an invitation from Pyramida Prazskeho Vystaviska. In Brno she was acting as Vicky in Forman´s "Hair". To her stage skills achieved in the stagings of the National Theatre - "Till cock didn’t sign" and "Lapin" , Zuzana added with the role of Gertrude in the unconventional staging of Hamlet in the Arena Theatre. Very popular was also the musical staging at Mala Scena (National Theatre) - "Secretaries", where she acted as "Hungarian". Apart from acting at many company parties, presentations, recordings of TV spots, entertaining TV productions and dubbing, Zuzana acted for 2 years in the TV show "Deres" as well as she was part of a TV family Silvanovci in a TV serial with the same name. Zuzana regularly lends her voice to cartoon characters (Esmeralda - Notre Damme, Miriam in Prince of Egyt or monkey Terk from Tarzan). She also applied her abilities in a TV movies "Black Sheep" (RND), "Black Lady" (L.Vancikova), "Quartetto" (L.Sivakova) and "Burning in the wind" by Silvio Soldini. After 2 years of engagement in Raimund Theatre in Vienna, where she almost daily stood on stage as Lady Montague and Amme in the musical Romeo and Juliete,she portrayed the main character of Maria Theresa in the musical satire "The Habsburgs" in the Viennese theatre of Museu Quartier.Momentary she plays Felicia in the musical Witches of Eastwick and Mme.Thenardier in the musical Les Miserables in the Town theatre Brno.
